We believe that every individual as part of the entirety of humanity, has a valuable contribution to make to themselves and the world. Our consultants, as individuals in their families, communities, organisations and society, contribute to their own specific causes to bring out the best in themselves and others. We provide the information below in the firm belief that by sharing our intent with the world, we will inspire and encourage others to participate in initiatives that will help them #leadwhereyouare.

Christelle Faul Marais - Lucidum Founder

The power of each individual living to his/her full potential is immense. I strive to enable everyone I meet to acknowledge themselves as an integral part of the collective, and to honor themselves as leaders, to lead in whatever they do, wherever they are. My life motto reflects this: 'Non tener pure ad un loco la mente' - don't let your mind dwell in one place only; "Wyrd bith ful araed' - fate is inexorable, so believe that you are destined to succeed, and that you owe it to yourself and the rest of humanity to do wo. As a nation, our joint efforts to implement good governance based on our shared values will help us prosper, but only if we understand ourselves well enough to guide our values and our actions consciously and deliberately. My coaching initiatives and my pro bono work reflect #leadwhereyouare, as I promote these principles at an individual and very personal level. I work for a world where we accept that we are all individuals with very similar challenges, and that greater awareness and acceptance of ourselves will help us to serve one another better.

I believe lasting change comes from small, consistent actions, by leading where we are. For many years now, I support vulnerable members of my community with clothing and essentials, including providing weekly meals to homeless individuals, funded through my salary and bonuses. These modest contributions show that even small resources can have a meaningful impact. My vision for the future is to create sustainable initiatives that empower communities to support themselves. By collaborating with like-minded organisations, we can build lasting positive change. I am also mentoring the next generation of leaders, inspiring them to lead where they are. My greatest fulfilment is knowing that a family won't go to bed hungry, a student's fees are paid, a young girl discovers her worth, or a young professional gain confidence and stand tall - all from quiet, behind-the-scenes support. As my grandmother once said, "It's the silent actions that make the greatest, most respectful impact." You can truly make a profound difference if you #leadwhereyouare, even in the smallest ways.

My father taught me that education is not only a ticket out of poverty, but also something that nobody can take away from you. Even if you lose all your material possessions, your education, skills, and experience will help you to thrive again. This principle also applies to our nation - quality education is our ticket to socio-economic freedom. My father also taught me that honesty and family give life true meaning. If we wish to address graft, as well as state and corporate capture, we need good governance, risk management, ethics, and compliance - for a sustainable future. We need ethical leadership at all levels of society. Activism does not only mean public demonstrations or taking to the streets to fight. To me, it means fighting the good fight in the board room, at the dinner table, and in each discussion with another person. My KWIK-series of articles is my way to #leadwhereyouare, to share information that will help many others to build a more prosperous society based on knowledge and ethics.

Soil science, community training, and children's education may sound an unlikely combination of activities to enable and achieve social upliftment and community transformation. However, many years of experience in rural subsistence farming projects have shown me that these elements are critical for positive return on investment and the sustainability of mutually beneficial outcomes. To me, #leadwhereyouare means to transform the land on which our most vulnerable people live - one square meter and one individual at a time. Instilling in people the values to treat Planet Earth as well as we want it to treat us as humanity, based on solid science-based interventions, is the only way in which to ensure the survival of humanity together with our planet. My greatest reward is the collaborative benefits that I am able to achieve with the organisations that are willing to invest in the most vulnerable in our society, through their corporate social investment programs to deliver real change in the long term.
